How did early colonization efforts in the New World proceed? What were some of the structures put in place by the colonizers to determine their success? This is an image of a post card, created in 1901 by A.B. Burbank. It is his depiction of Plymouth Colony as it may have appeared in 1622.
Description As the Europeans began to get a foothold in the Americas, conflicts arose. So did benefits - overwhelmingly for the Europeans. We are going to trace those changes and growth. Objectives Students will identify and describe the patterns of settlement and significant interactions associated with the period of colonization in the New World. Essential questions How did European colonies affect the Native populations? How did the expansion of European colonies affect Europe? What were the effects of the Columbian Exchange?
