What were some of the key events that shaped the years after Washington?
Description George Washington left a legacy unmatched in American history. As he left office in 1796, America was facing continued challenges and growth. History books often overlook the legacy of John Adams, but we are going to explore it. Objectives Students will identify and describe the effects of one of the key events from the latter part of the Washington years or the Adams years. Essential questions How did your event develop? Specifically, what events led up to it? What were the long-term impacts of your event? Who was involved? When did it occur? What were the key issues involved? Why is it important? Where did it occur? Special instructions Consider one of the following topics:
For this assignment you will create a presentation about one of the events above. Your presentation must address the essential questions as they relate your event. You may work in groups of up to three people. I strongly suggest you look closely at the textbook and the sources listed in the right column of this page. Vocabulary NA Rubric Was the time used well?
