What happened around the Atlantic after the great ideals of the Congress of Vienna?
von Metternich Description The Congress of Vienna convened as Napoleon was falling from power. The big question was how to create stability in Europe after so much had been shattered by the Napoleonic Wars. Attendees to the Congress believed the real key to stability was to strengthen the monarchies and restrict the power of France. Just what happened in the wake of the Congress was something no one imagined. Objectives Students will identify and describe the strengths and weaknesses of their topics from this period assigned to their groups. Essential questions What were the positive and not-so-positive effects of your topic? Why? How did they affect the people of their time and ours? Special instructions You will present the findings of your group in a format you choose. You can do the traditional PowerPoint, you can discuss it, you can do a news program, a podcast or a play. You choose. Work with the team assignments we made in class. The topics are listed below.
In addition to your presentation, you need to create a simple handout explaining your findings. You need to include a paragraph or two that explains each side. You will email your handouts to me and I will combine them. Vocabulary NA Rubric |
