How did World War I affect Europe and the world?

 

Description

The end of WWI changed the world into something that resembles the modern world more closely than at any time in history.

Objectives

Students will identify and explain the impacts of World War I.

Essential questions

In a simple short essay of a couple of paragraphs, answer the following questions:

  1. Explain the creation of the League of Nations. How did it work as Pres. Wilson wanted? How did it not? How was it a precursor to the United Nations? How did it differ?
  2. Explain the reason for the economic punishment of Germany after the war. Why did the victors want to punish Germany? What were some of the impacts?
  3. How were national boundaries and the former empires affected by WWI?

Extra Credit Question - How did the outcome of WWI contribute, or not contribute, to WWII?
