Description

At the same time the influence of the Renaissance was settling across Europe many nations began turning to more powerful monarchs - the absolutists. They held the idea that unyielding, total authority dwelt in themselves. Some of the asbolutist monarchs cared for the people they ruled. Others, like Louis XIV shown above, cared nothing for the lives of the people he ruled. In this unit we are going to look at the growth of absolutism.
