Description

Great Britain has changed the world and been changed by the world. In this assignment we are going to explore both kinds of changes.

When completed your packet will include the following:

  1. Your completed nation map of Northern Europe.
  2. The study questions, completed and answered from your assignment card for part one.
  3. Two documentary newspaper articles. One from each of the categories listed under Part Two.

Objectives

Students will complete the assignment materials they received in class and they will create a documentary piece of evidence about one of two aspects of Great Britain.

Essential questions

What has Great Britain contributed to the world, and how have those contributions shaped the world?
What forces shaped the land of Great Britain and how is that reflected in the landscape and the ways the land is used today?

Part Two >> It's deadline time! You work for a newspaper and your editor needs to fill a small hole in the next two editions. They want to do some pieces about Great Britain, and they have assigned you to do it. You will select one question from each category listed below. You will then create a newspaper article about the questions you chose.

  • Each article needs to be about 250 words long and provide a clear, concise answer to the question.
  • Your article also needs to include a photo with a caption. (You can link the photo to your article.)
  • Plagiarism rules apply.
  • If you want to come up with your own selection, talk to your editor - Mr. Robbins.
  • This assignment is to be typed - after all, this is a newspaper.
